i rmb seeing my 1st shooting star ever when i was 9 yrs old, and it was with my mom during mid-autumn fest. i did not manage to catch the star while making a wish, and my disappointment is totally shown on my face. And tat's when my mom told me this: A shooting star represent a fading of a star; and how could you ask a fading star to grant u a wish?
We never actually think of this matter i supposed, that's y we still wish those fading stuff to grant us wish even for one last time. That's when some ppl jz waiting beside his sick father's bed, jz to wish that his dad could write a will and put his name at first place. it is more or less the same meaning to wish upon a shooting star. in that sense, wishing over a shooting star is more or less evil i supposed.
Few years later, i saw the second shooting star in my life; and this time i did not bother to make wishes, but my fren beside me was bz making wish. then, he missed the star. He told his another fren that he is prepared now with his wish and if there is a second shooting star, he would manage to make a wish. His fren look at him and said: what is the purpose to make a wish that u wish to make on 1st star to second star? Afterall, it is not the same star.
hmm.... something worth the thought, isn't it?
